MONOLIGHTS
A new selection of lighting using Monoprinting on Japanese paper.
Monoprinting is a method of producing one off images. Ink is drawn, painted, smeared or spattered onto glass plates and this image is then transferred onto paper by using a roller.
"I have always loved the process of mark making and am now using this technique to produce the Monolight lamp shades directly. Applied with syringe, reed pens, sticks and pieces of rubber the ink almost has a life of its own and the element of chance is, to me, the most exciting part of the process, not being in total control and not knowing exactly how the final print will turn out, but being surprised and sometimes delighted how the ink has run to produce a final image."
